Checks run from your browser, not from a centralized monitor. That means the status you see is the status from your network path, not a global average.
Each service exposes a /health endpoint that returns 200 when the process is healthy and reachable. A green light confirms the endpoint responded successfully; it does not certify that every internal subsystem is happy.
For deep monitoring (per-region uptime, SLA history, incident timelines), the roadmap is to integrate with an external uptime provider before we make uptime SLA commitments to Pro / Enterprise.
